Harmonized Implementation Tools (HIT) were originally developed for the implementation of the 2014-2020 Interreg Programmes.

The HIT templates and guidance documents - created in cooperation with many Interreg Programmes - form one integrated package for programme and project implementation, and have also been used in the development of the eMS (Electronic Monitoring System, developed by Interact and used by many Interreg Programmes).

With this kick-off event, we start working to further develop HIT for programmes to be implemented in the 2021-2027 period. The key aspects of this joint work are adjustment to the new rules and the need for further harmonization and simplification, taking on board experiences gained throughout the implementation of the 2014-2020 programmes.

Our goal is the highest possible level of commitment from programme staff, so we would like you to encourage the Heads of Joint Secretariats to join this kick-off meeting. If this is not possible, we hope you'll arrange for a colleague who can deliver the commitment from the programme's side to attend the meeting. During this meeting, a focus group exercise will be done, analyzing the use of HIT in the current period; thus, the colleague(s) attending must have relevant knowledge about how HIT has been used by the programme they represent.
