Indicators and data collection

Thursday, 2 March, 2017 to Friday, 3 March, 2017
Florence, Italy

Interact hosted the evaluation managers of different Interreg programmes in a workshop on indicators and data collection. The main objective of this 1,5 days meeting was to discuss common challenges and share interesting solutions related to indicators and data collection.

In this respect, the different topics we looked into during the event included:

  • How and why indicators matter
  • What role do indicators and data play in evaluation
  • What kind of data is needed for the specific evaluation methods
  • What kind of data would we need and what kind of data do we actually have for the evaluation of effectiveness and efficiency (operational evaluation) and for the evaluation of impact?

In addition, we introduced different tools and systems for data collection by presenting examples for data collection considering different levels (Europe wide, programmes and projects). Interreg programmes such as ESPON, Central Europe or Oresund-Kattegat-Skagerrak were presented there. Furthermore, some online tools like KEEP were thoroughly addressed and discussed in order to value their potential for evaluation.

All the presentations are available for download here below.

A playlist of 14 different videos on the subject of indicators and data collection is available here.

The Q&A discussed are summarised in the publication available below.
