How do we communicate SCOs?

Thursday, 8 September, 2022
Online 09:00 - 12:30 CET

If you’re working with simplified cost options, we are sure that you have been asked the following question at least once, “Why do we need to do things differently, in a new way?”. You have surely realized that working with SCOs implies working with a significant number of different stakeholders – cooperation between JS and MA (they would normally develop an SCO methodology), contacts with your AA (they would normally assess your SCO(s)), your monitoring committee members (they would approve the scheme), controllers (they will have to verify SCOs with a completely different to real costs approach), and last but certainly not least – applicants and beneficiaries (they are the ones using SCOs). And it certainly makes no sense working on SCOs if in the end your beneficiaries do not know what they are all about, don’t want to use them, or are confused.

In this interactive session, we would like to focus on communication – how do we communicate SCOs to different stakeholders, how do we talk about their benefits, differences, and how do we ensure that we are on the same page with all programme’s stakeholders when it comes to SCOs. You will get a chance to work with our communication expert, Arkam Ograk, who will tell about his tips and hints on how to make the best use of different communication methods and channels. Programmes will also have an opportunity to exchange on good/bad practices when working with/ developing SCOs and interaction between different programme authorities.

Target group

Finance/project managers from joint secretariats/ managing authorities of Interreg programmes, working with SCOs, national contact points.
