2021-2027 offers a significant simplification for Interreg programmes regarding management verifications. The legal text clearly establishes that the management verifications (both administrative and on-the-spot) should be risk-based and proportionate to the risks identified ex-ante and in writing (Article 74(2) CPR).

Together with the colleagues from the EC, Interact organizes a session dedicated to risk-based management verifications in Interreg, its rationale, theory and practical implications. HIT methodology along with the guide on how to develop a methodology for risk-based management verifications will be presented. The event will also allow exchanging on the Interreg programme’s preliminary experiences in setting up risk-based management verifications, including key issues and challenges when developing methodologies.
