There is a need for programmes around the Mediterranean Sea basin to improve their synergies and to reinforce interprogramme cooperation. This will ensure a higher impact of the resources implemented in the territory. For such coordination to be efficient and realist, the ground should be set during the programming process in order to have a smooth development in its implementation.

 In the Mediterranean area, 3 meetings took place so far: The first one, last June, the focus was on "WHAT theme to work jointly", the second, last September, on "WHO does what" to ensure synergies across programmes and the third one, in January 2021, focused on "How to improve interprogramme coordination across Interreg programmes in the Mediterranean".

This fourth meeting, as a follow up of the previous one in January will focus on "Tools and Themes", based on the information to be provided in sections 1.2 and 2.1.2 of the programme’s template. It will focus on the following aspects:

• Tools that could make effective such interprogramme coordination. Information and discussion in break out rooms.
• Task Force thematic choices and possible activities/operations may programmes finance under those topics. Update and discussion in break out rooms

As a reminder to the participants, the meeting will remain technical, as the previous ones and no decision is taken here but in the programmes Task Forces.
