General Block Exemption Regulation and Interreg
With the General Block Exemption Regulation (GBER) proposed amendment, expected to come into force at the beginning of 2021, the GBER application will become more attractive for beneficiaries with state aid relevant activities. The main proposed amendments include among others the alignment of GBER intensity rate with the co-financing rate applicable for Interreg programmes and the inclusion of the new sub-article 20a with simplified monitoring and reporting provisions.
The general aim of the meeting is to exchange current experience that programmes have with the application of GBER schemes, discuss the proposed changes and formulate points that need to be clarified by DG Comp. The meeting is designed for both GBER beginners who want to prepare a GBER scheme and more advanced users who already registered and use schemes. The basics of State aid however will not be touched upon. The main objective is to discuss the technicalities of GBER application.
