Currently, several initiatives in the Southern Europe and the Mediterranean are at stake, on the one side there is the Initiative , for the development of the Blue Economy in the West Mediterranean, on the other a pilot governance platform acting in the whole Mediterranean Panoramed . In addition, the EU financial perspectives for the next programing period is under discussion.

The proposed meeting will bring together cooperation programmes operating in the same geographical area and dealing with the same topics or complementary ones. The meeting has a threefold aim:

1. To share information and seek for complementarities among the Cooperation Programmes.
2. To foster awareness about the new initiatives in the area: West Med Initiative and Panoramed platform and to spot their contribution to these.
3. Commission will update on the financial perspectives 2021-2027, namely for Interreg and ENI CBC MED.

As a main output, the meeting will come up with a synthesis of the complementarities among the EU Cooperation Programmes and possible alignment within the West Med Initiative and the Interreg MED 'Panoramed' project.

Participation to this event is upon invitation only to relevant stakeholders and Interreg Programmes in the Mediterranean area and South of Europe.
