Workshop on future simplification in Interreg for post-2020

Interact, in cooperation with the Commission, organises a workshop for Interreg programmes to contribute to future simplification in European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) for the post-2020 legal framework. The objective of the workshop is to discuss and propose new ideas and solutions with experts from programmes and the Commission. The format will be to work in small groups on the following topics:
1. Control system (management verifications & audits)
2. Simplified cost options
3. State aid
4. Designation & Reporting requirements (annual accounts, management declaration, annual summary etc.)
5. Risk-management
6. Cash-flow (liquidity, advance payments)
7. Gold plating
The workshop will not be a strategic meeting or focus on general messages. There will be no plenary sessions or strategic/general input. Participants will work in small groups, in parallel, on the areas mentioned above. The working groups will be composed by programme and Commission experts and facilitated by Interact.
The event addresses practitioners, who want to actively contribute to improving Interreg. It aims at discussing details and proposing concrete improvements, hence substantial knowledge and considerable day-to-day experience is a prerequisite.
To have constructive and fruitful discussions all the necessary programme bodies should be represented accordingly for the relevant topic and the number of persons in the working groups will be limited. When confirming participation Interact will also take into consideration a fair geographical and Interreg strand coverage.
