Green policy challenges in maritime regions
The Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform and Interact's ‘Knowledge of the Seas Network’ will co-host a joint event dedicated to exploring opportunities for collaboration on green policy challenges of coastal cities and maritime regions.
The paradigm shift from ‘blue growth’ to ‘sustainable blue economy’ pursued by the EU will require a profound transformation of economic activities along Europe’s coastlines and at sea. Reducing their cumulative impacts on the marine environment and value chains will indeed of paramount importance to move towards a climate neutral and circular economy and to increase coastal resilience.
By attending this joint event, you will learn about the main green challenges that members of the Interact ‘Knowledge of the Seas Network’ are currently tackling. You will also discover how the services offered and the knowledge gathered by the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform can provide a concrete answer to the multifaceted policy dilemmas of coastal cities and maritime regions embarking on green transformations.
After the joint event (15.00-15.30 CEST) the Interreg Europe Policy Learning Platform colleagues will remain available for an on-line policy helpdesk. You can book a 10’ individual slot to receive information on PLP services, request tailor-made policy support and discuss any of your policy challenges: from marine litter to coastal tourism, from waste management to biodiversity protection, from renewable energy and to cultural heritage and much more.
