The story of cooperation within the Investment for Jobs and Growth (IJG) goal originated during the Open Days back in 2010. The spirit that drove participants’ motivation was to attempt to join as many European stakeholders as possible and to clarify the methodology and activities that could be implemented through cooperation under mainstream programmes.

Over the last two programming periods, the same questions, doubts, and wonderings kept being raised, together with the eagerness to explore and know more, especially concerning how to apply cooperation element in the mainstream programmes as a tool to strengthen and exploit new ways of working together. These questions are especially important in the context of the new funding period – 2020-2027, where cooperation has been set as a horizontal principle.

With the first programmes adopted, we will be soon turning our full attention to the implementation phase. But how to approach the practical implementation of the planned cooperation measures supporting actions beyond one’s own region borders? This will be the focus of the online webinar.

The aim of the meeting is to bring together representatives from the Cohesion Policy funds national/regional (mainstream) programmes Managing Authorities:

• facilitate the embedding of cooperation in national/regional (mainstream programmes); as well as
• offer room for open discussion on the practical implementation and possibilities of using cooperation components of Cohesion Policy funds.

In addition, interested authorities are invited to join the 2nd part of the webinar dedicated to embedding the EU macro-regional strategies/sea-basin strategies: focus on implementation. This session will focus on the joint implementation of larger territorial frameworks which address challenges going beyond a single country and provide orientation for cooperation actions.
