Building North-Western Interreg Programmes together - a coordinated approach to shared priorities

The draft regulatory proposals for the 2021-2027 Cohesion Policy underline cooperation as a horizontal objective. Synergies and complementarities across funding programmes are encouraged. Taking this into account, Interact is organising meetings to bring together Interreg Programmes (both cross-border and transnational) as part of our support to the post-2020 programming, for a discussion on territorial impact and coordination. These pilot events will be held in four different areas of Europe, one of which is the North-Western part of Europe.
The North-Western part of Europe is a unique area with a long history of successful Interreg cooperation, covering many geographically overlapping Interreg Programmes. It is not fully covered by a macroregional strategy or sea-basin strategy, and recently has been affected by the departure of the UK. Thus, the overall aim of this forum is two-fold; to discuss previous experiences and possible synergies of programme contributions to the main thematic challenges of the North-Western part of Europe, and to informally exchange on other programmes' thematic focus in 2021-2027.
The main target group for the meeting are the programmes’ Managing Authorities. However, if considered relevant, the participation of representatives of Member States or Joint Secretariats is welcome.
Please note that this event is strictly dedicated to programmes of the North-Western part of Europe.
The objective of the meeting is to enhance exchange between programmes, and to support coordination in Interreg programming in 2021-2027 in the North-Western part of Europe. This will provide an overview of the thematic directions programmes intend to take in 2021-2027, and allow for an initial exchange on possible synergies and complementarities.
