Boosting Youth Employability in EU cooperation

Monday, 28 June, 2021
Online 9:30 -12.30

Currently, there are 3.4 million young people who are unemployed in the EU, aged between 14 and 24. Not to avoid the COVID-19 crisis, which did not improve this situation and many young people have seen their employment prospects deteriorate.

Youth cooperation was one of the central topics highlighted in the celebrations of Interreg 30 engaging directly in a dialogue with youth. Young people’s ideas on Interreg and especially on how to make it more in line with their expectations are now collected in the Manifesto for Young People by Young People to Shape the European Cooperation Policy. 12 recommendations are now put forward and ready to be implemented by Interreg programmes and considered in the work of macro-regions.

Building on the youth manifesto, the event aims to explore how Interreg programmes are working on youth employability schemes. The event will also strive to define some ideas on how to build a long habit of cooperation between young people and Interreg and beyond. So far 341 projects on youth employment and training have been supported by EU cooperation, with a total budget of 254 million euros. (Source: Keep.eu)
