Last June, during the first online meeting on Improving synergies across the Mediterranean, there was a particular focus on the WHAT, here there were updates on the Mediterranean programming task forces and the identification on possible common challenges. These tackled jointly, in a complementary way should be more efficient.

The second meeting focuses on WHO does what. To ensure programme inter-coordination all, Programme authorities, Commission and Member states have an active role. During this meeting Commission and Member States will take the opportunity to clarify/explain about  their views to improve the synergies across programmes and programme authorities will explore their added value and discuss the type of operations they may finance _based on their nature, TN, CBC, neighbourhood, pre-accession_ to be more efficient reaching such complementarity.  In this way striving to avoid overlaps and finance the same kind of operations.

To be more pragmatic, the idea of this second meeting will be collecting relevant information for the programmes to fill in section 1.2 and 2.1.2 of their Cooperation programmesThis second meeting, focusing on the WHO does what is based on the programme strand’s nature (TN, CBC, neighbourhood, pre-accession, sea basin, etc). 

 Please note that this event is strictly dedicated to Heads of Managing Authorities and Secretariats, as well as Member States and Commission staff working on the programming for post 2020 in the Mediterranean Area.
